By Rachael Starks

One of the most efficient giveaways used by marketers, custom apparel serves an all-around purpose and cuts across industries. Used for team building, product launches, press conferences, fundraising, wearables whether in the form of T-shirts, jackets, caps, pullovers, vests, or sweatshirts are fashionable and readily accepted because people find them practical and valuable. With advances in technology, adding your logo or artwork on custom apparel becomes a no-sweat, no-fuss process.

T-shirts are probably the most widely available custom apparel. They come in various materials and are available in different shades to match your corporate logo. Their uses are as varied as well: Customized shirts are used as uniforms to identify participants in sports events, marathons, and walkathons. Companies have also found use for this type of custom apparel especially in team-building, tree-planting, fund-raising, outings, and other company activities. You rarely see anyone not sporting logo-imprinted shirts these days. They are that readily existing.

Custom apparel such as sweatshirts, jackets, jogging pants, tank tops, sports caps, and pullovers helps build a following and strengthens loyalty for institutions. These wearables have been sold in universities and colleges as uniforms of athletic associations, cheerleaders, and physical education classes. They also serve as keepsakes for those who have left their alma mater and are reminder of the special years in ones life. These clothes are also a way of “branding” an individual one certainly would not dare be caught dead in a rival institutions colors or stripes. These types of custom sports apparel are used to drive membership for gyms, clubs, and other exclusive groups.

Custom apparel and accessories such as scarves, dress shirts, and bandannas can be given away as corporate gifts for special occasions to build a sense of belonging. As part of uniforms in airline, shipping, and hospitality industries, they brand your employees as ambassadors furthering your corporate mission.

Western Apparel: No Comeback Needed
By xdavid

Fashion is fairly cyclical thing, when you look at it. Hemlines rise and fall, as do waistlines. Pant legs taper, they flair, they straighten back out…you can see where this is going. Fashion is constantly in flux, and those who inform it hold a great deal of power over what the trends will look like in the coming season. Brown is the new black, and all such nonsense. When it comes right down to it, fashion is all about having the time, money and interest to invest in how you appear. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We are in a culture that cares a great deal about the packaging, and as such, it is not only normal, but encouraged, to pay attention to one’s style of dress.

Western wear was born out of necessity, and while life out west is much more comfortable these days, many of the elements- such as the horses, the cattle, and all the hard work that comes with ranches, farms and riding remains the same. Saddles haven’t much changed since then, and cowboy boots still need to be worn when riding, for practical and safety reasons. Likewise, rodeos have grown up out of this culture, creating another instance where fashion is born directly out of the clothing worn (not as style, but as function).

What is important to recognize here is that western apparel has never gone out of style, and the reason for this is that it’s never ceased to be useful. Ranch workers never woke up and realized that they could do their work in something else. While western wear has evolved over the years and there are more protective garments today than there were at the advent of this style of clothing, much of it remains the same. As such, it really can’t “go out of style” and in most cases, western apparel will be worn regardless. It has worked its way into fashions across the States as well. You’ll see cowboy boots from New York to California and just about everywhere in between.

One of the reasons that western apparel can make the jump from work wear to fashion wear so easily is that it doesn’t add unnecessary additions to the clothing in order to make it fancier. For example, a western wear skirt is unlikely to suddenly have lots of ruffles, but it might well feature decorative stitching. As far as cowboy boots go, decorative inlays and stitching are what make the boots unique from one maker to another. It also is the difference between the boots you’ll wear while mucking out stalls and the boots you’ll wear for a night out on the town, listening to music and dancing.
